It's fair to say out of the majority of teams in the Championship, Bristol City have made one of the strongest starts.

Manager Lee Johnson will be pleased to have seen his side climb to sixth in the table ahead of the international break and it's a position many Robins supporters feel can be improved upon in what is an ambitious time in Bristol's history.

Playing in a newly-renovated Ashton Gate, Bristol are instilling themselves as one of the up-and-coming sides in the division this season and have already won three of their five fixtures.

And whilst the majority of the squad are playing well and doing their bit, are there certain individuals who aren't playing quite so well, or who aren't pulling their weight as much as they should be.

Football League World writer Hayden Atkins takes us through three Bristol City players who have been slightly overrated this season.

Adam Matthews

Former Celtic man Adam Matthews has had a tough time of it after joining Sunderland for around £2 million last summer and joined the Robins on a loan move in March last season.

He featured nine times for the Robins as he helped them stay up but was far from a mainstay in the team.

He's now back at Ashton Gate after being sent away by David Moyes but he's recently suffered a hamstring tear which could keep him out for around a month.

Whilst no player can help their injuries, some think Matthews is a little overrated, especially with Mark Little playing well so far this campaign.

Aaron Wilbraham

Another tough choice but for me, Aaron Wilbraham could do a little more in this Bristol City squad and he really will have to step up following the departure of Jonathan Kodjia.

Was a big part of Bristol's League One winning side back in the 2014/2015 season but hasn't quite managed to stick the ball in the back of the net quite as much as he perhaps could have.

With Kodjia leaving he'll have more of a chance to show Bristol supporters what he can do.

Josh Brownhill

Josh Brownhill

Former Manchester United academy prospect Josh Brownhill was snapped up by Bristol following his release from Preston at the end of last season.

He's struggled to break into the Bristol team though, with competition for places arguably higher than ever.

He won Preston North End's Goal of the Season award in 2013 for a goal that saw every outfield player touch the ball, arguably one of the high points of his career so far.

This is the sort of form Robins fans will want to see going forward- with the likes of Tomlin, O'Dowda, Pack and Reid all competing for places in the middle of the park.
