Brighton & Hove Albion are in the process of a rebuild as Chris Hughton looks to help his team go one better than last season, and gain promotion to the top flight of English football.

A draw with Middlesbrough on the final day of last season meant that 'Boro went up on goal difference, a result that ended up derailing their play-off campaign too, losing out to Sheffield Wednesday in the semi-finals.

Two years ago, they barely avoided relegation, so as a result of their dramatic rise, there is plenty of dead wood that hasn't featured much and just isn't good enough to help the Seagulls achieve their ambitions.

On top of this, they have some great players that shone throughout the last campaign, who may now want to ply their trade at the highest level. If they decide that Brighton may have their work cut out to gain promotion, they may jump ship to a side in the top flight.

Here, in the opinion of FLW's Ryan Evans, is THREE Brighton players that will surely be sold:

Lewis Dunk

Dunk was one of Brighton's best players last season, a shining light in a back four that was one of the best in the division. He made 38 appearances and scored three times, and even captained the team on multiple occasions.

However, the 24-year old's biggest weakness is probably his discipline; he missed both games against Middlesbrough due to red card suspensions, including the winner-takes-all game in May. It could be argued that missing Dunk was one of the reasons that resulted in them failing to gain promotion, but that shouldn't stain what was a simply magnificent season for the young man.

He, understandably, has had plenty of interest from multiple teams around the country, including Everton and West Bromwich Albion. If a respectable bid was tabled, it would definitely test Houghton's resolve to keep him, and may have no choice but to try and use his transfer fee to sign a replacement.

Elvis Manu

On the other end of the scale to Dunk, Manu has barely been able to get a game for Albion, and spent some time on loan at Huddersfield last season. Unfortunately for the man from the Netherlands, he was only able to get himself into David Wagner's team on five occasions, a total of just 107 minutes.

The 22-year old winger could only make eight more appearances in the league for Brighton, and none since returning from the John Smith's stadium. Hughton brought the talented player in from Feyenoord last summer, and whilst it didn't work out for him, he may want to keep him because the player has time on his side.

However, Manu won't want to sit on the bench, and there has been interest from other clubs in England and his homeland.

Solly March

The 21-year-old midfielder is one of the Championship's most exciting up and coming talents.

His excellent performances for the Seagulls before his injury have seemingly caught the attention of Premier League side Southampton - and it would be no surprise to see the skilful winger depart for St Mary's this summer.

Brighton fans will undoubtedly want to keep him at the Amex Stadium, but the lure of a move to the Premier League may be too much.
