Barnsley proved it was a season of two halves last season with completely contrasting fortunes during the 2015/16 season.
Their form at the start of the season was abysmal under Lee Johnson and after a 2-0 home defeat to Wigan they lingered in the relegation zone, despite having a talented squad.
They went on a run of 8 straight defeats before the turn of the year but in January and February they recorded an astonishing 9 wins in 11 games.
Irregardless Johnson left to take the Bristol City job and assistant Paul Heckingbottom took charge, this move did not halt their momentum only losing 2 more games from March onwards and on the final day an impressive 4-1 win away at Champions Wigan saw them sneak into the play-offs.
They brushed Walsall aside before outplaying Millwall beating them 3-1 to earn promotion to the Championship, to add to their Johnstones Paint Trophy win earlier in the season.
Their star man was top scorer Sam Winnall with 24 goals but the performances of Connor Hourihane, Adam Hammill and Alfie Mawson were excellent also.
They need to keep these players if they are too survive and here are THREE Barnsley players that will dictate their fortunes next season…..
