Nottingham Forest have been stuck in a rut for some time now and other than a promotion from League One and a couple of runs to the play-offs in the Championship, it hasn’t been a great ten years for the Reds.

Poor ownership, embarrassing boardroom episodes and a revolving door of managerial changes have all contributed to a poor chapter in the history of a once proud football club.

The 2016/17 campaign has seen Forest pack out away ends up and down the country thus far but home crowds remain a big problem, with just 17,000 at the club’s last home game against Fulham representing a sign that disgruntled locals are indeed voting with their feet.

Whilst some fans are disillusioned with the club’s owner, it doesn’t help that over the last ten years the Reds have had some bang average players among their ranks.

Football League World writer Lee Clarke takes a look at the three worst strikers to play for Nottingham Forest in the last 10 years.

Rafik Djebbour

The Algerian arrived at the City Ground as an unknown quantity and left after just seven appearances and one goal during his six month stay.

Billy Davies was in charge when he was signed, although whether or not Davies had much of a say in the matter remains to be seen.

The striker actually went onto have quite an impressive record when he left the City Ground, netting 14 goals in 26 appearances for Cypriot side APOEL.

Djebbour netted a debut tap-in for the Reds in a 3-1 win over Yeovil Town but problems with his attitude and application ensured his career at Forest was destined for failure.

Ishmael Miller

Steve McClaren was destined for failure as manager of Nottingham Forest from the moment he signed the work-shy Miller from West Bromwich Albion.

Miller arrived at the City Ground for £1.2 million and netted just three goals during 25 appearances despite being on the books at the club for three years.

The striker was bombed out on loan three times during his spell at Forest and was poor at Middlesbrough, whilst his bad attitude caused Yeovil Town to terminate his temporary spell early.

The 29-year-old is currently without a club and his career now looks to be unsurprisingly parked.

Robbie Findley

If Ishmael Miller was a bad signing, then Robbie Findley was a complete and utter catastrophe.

The American forward arrived under a cloud of optimism from Real Salt Lake in his native country and showed early signs of promise.

Findley just couldn’t get used to the physicality of English football and it soon became apparent that he was miles out of his depth in the UK.

He netted three goals during 25 games for the club and after a failed loan spell with Gillingham he moved back to Real Salt Lake.
