Being a Coventry City fan in the last ten years has just been one disappointment after another.

After struggling for years in the Championship, the Sky Blues were relegated to England's third tier in 2012 for the first time in 48 years.

What was once an established top division club, an FA Cup winning side, a Premier League founder and a proud club with a rich history had now shrunk into a sleeping giant.

Things did not get better in League One.

Financial woes meant a points deduction held Coventry back and now - even without the points deduction - the Sky Blues are loitering at the wrong end of the table.

It's looking bleak with off-the-field issues still rife and tensions with the fans almost at boiling point.

Over the past ten years, the Ricoh Arena (which was fairly new back in 2006) has seen plenty of awful strikers.

Here is the selection of the THREE worst strikers to play for Coventry over the past ten years...

Darius Henderson

Coventry were flying high last season with an exciting bunch of youngsters lighting up the league with impressive displays.

Then Tony Mowbray decided to buy a load of free agents in their mid-30's.

Darius Henderson was probably the worst of these.

The 6'4'' forward was utterly useless in his five games for Coventry and will forever be infamously remembered for falling flat on his face whilst through on goal against Peterborough.

A goal would have brought City level and it was on Sky Sports as he tripped over his own feet and squandered the opportunity.

Henderson was a disastrous purchase and one of the worst players to pull on a Coventry shirt over the last few seasons.

Nick Proschwitz

Nick Proschwitz

Nick Proschwitz is probably the pick of the bunch here.

The useless German joined City on loan from Brentford as the Sky Blues battled to survive relegation to League Two.

He scored once in nine games which was a consolation in a 3-1 loss to Crewe.

His all-round game play was woeful: he was slow, lazy, weak and couldn't hold the ball up or shoot.

Supposedly he was a bit of a target man but he barely won anything in the air. On the final day of the season, Coventry needed to beat Crawley to ensure survival.

They managed a 2-1 win in spite of Proschwitz, who missed a penalty with a very tame effort.

Robbie Simpson

Honourable mentions must be handed out to Nathan Eccleston, Youssef Sofiane, Denzel Slager and Lateef Elford-Alliyu before I proceed with justifying Robbie Simpson's inclusion.

Simpson is now considered a journeyman but when he joined Iain Dowie's Coventry in 2007, he was heralded as a tremendous prospect.

Simpson scored just five minutes into his debut in the League Cup against Notts County and started as the Sky Blues shocked Manchester United with a 2-0 win - Gerard Pique marking him that day.

He failed to continue this form though and after scoring just 4 league goals in over 60 games, he was shipped off to Huddersfield.
