As Queens Park Rangers resurgence continues and the West London club climb up the table away from the relegation zone, Ian Holloway may look to further strengthen his side by promoting from within.

Although the transfer window has now closed, Ian Holloway could elect to promote from within in order to add further strength and depth to his squad.

Queens Park Rangers' Under 23 side currently sit in seventh position in the Professional Development League South division, however, the most impressive feat is the number of academy graduates who rise through the academy system to play for QPR's senior side.

A number of academy graduates have been promoted and then further utilised by Ian Holloway for Queens Park Rangers this season.

One of the integral players in Queens Park Rangers' starting line-up this season has been academy graduate Darnell Furlong.

This article looks at two wonderkids who could follow Furlong's footsteps and emerge for Queens Park Rangers in the second half of the season.

Reece Grego-Cox

Reece Grego-Cox is one of the most highly rated young starlets coming out of Queens Park Rangers academy after joining from Bedfont Eagles at the age of 13.

The 20-year-old striker was sent out on loan at the beginning of the season to Sky Bet League 2 side Newport County as he searched for regular first team football.

However, Grego-Cox's season long loan at the Welsh club was cut short when he picked up an injury in October which left him sidelined until he was recalled in December.

Since recovering from the injury, Grego-Cox has been in prolific form for the Queens Park Rangers Under 23 side after scoring a hat-trick against Coventry City.

Ian Holloway may look to give Grego-Cox a senior debut as he attempts to gauge if he would be capable of replicating his form at Championship level.

If he is capable, he could be the next academy graduate to emerge as a star for Queens Park Rangers.

Gianni Crichlow

As well as Reece Grego-Cox, Gianni Crichlow is viewed as one of Queens Park Rangers' brightest prospect after an excellent 2015-16 season.

The 18-year-old advanced midfielder recovered well from a severe ankle injury to become Queens Park Rangers Under 18 side's top goalscorer last season.

The forward thinking midfielder scored ten times in eight appearances for the Under 18 side.

Although it would be a calculated risk, Ian Holloway may consider calling up the attacking midfielder to the senior squad to see if he can make an impact at senior level.

Considering Crichlow's injury issues, he will have to be carefully managed by Ian Holloway.

However, if he is given the opportunity, he could be able to regain his goal scoring form and replicate his impressive performances at the senior level.
