Wolves know that victory against Birmingham City will guarantee a return to the Premier League and top off what has been a remarkable campaign by Nuno Espirito Santo and his team.

Wanderers could even be promoted before they kick-off on Sunday providing Fulham fail to beat Brentford the day before.

Either way, promotion is inevitable and few would argue that the Black Country side have not been the best in the division.

Some observers suggest Wolves should be in this position given the money they have spent and the quality of player they've attracted thanks to Jorge Mendes.

In some ways that is right, with Ruben Neves showing again last night that he shouldn't be playing in the second tier, whilst Willy Boly and Diogo Jota have been outstanding this season too.

However, that takes away from the work that Santo and the other players have done, with this very much a team effort from the league leaders.

Here we look at two players who deserve more plaudits coming their way...

Bennett was actually a free transfer having been released by Norwich at the end of last season and arrived at the same time Santo was appointed, so many doubted whether the ex-Porto boss was behind his arrival.

Whether he was or not doesn't matter, because he has trusted the centre-back to play a big role this season.

The 28-year old made only his second league start at the end of October and has been a near ever-present since.

He boasts great positional sense and is dependable. It's hard to think of a mistake he has made this season. A superb bit of business.

Any midfielder would probably go under the radar next to Ruben Neves! However, you can't underestimate the role Saiss plays in allowing Neves to flourish.

The Morocco international will play as a centre-back at the World Cup this summer and those defensive instincts are key in filling in for the wing-backs and plugging gaps in midfield.

As well as that, he is capable on the ball, regularly playing passes quickly out wide to start attacks.

Wolves have a great balance to the team and Saiss is pivotal to that.
