Like any team, there will be players amongst the first-team who don't get the minutes on the pitch and Wolves are a prime suspect for doing that to some of their players - especially in the past.

Whether that be as a result of being in the matchday squad or falling out with the manager, there would be a number of reasons as to why footballers decide to depart a club and move down a division.

For example, winger Zeli Ismail spent quite a while at Molineux but after several loan spells away he couldn't really impress the boss at Wolves and left the team last summer; signing for Bury in League One on a permanent basis.

After the Midlands outfit gained promotion to the Championship after spending a fairly unchallenging campaign in the third-tier, several of the first-team departed after being judged not good enough for more competitive football. Forwards Leon Clarke and Jake Cassidy were just two of the victims.

It happens quite a lot, basically, so here are two Wolverhampton Wanderers players who need to downgrade and move down a league...

Lee Evans

In a midfield which has quality in abundance, it's clear as to see why Lee Evans has struggled to break into the matchday squad on a regular basis at Wolves.

The 22-year-old didn't feature substantially in the first half of the season, making five appearances in the month of August but didn't play again until the first week of January in their FA Cup victory over Stoke.

Evans has played in 15 matches all together for Wolves this campaign - having a larger presence since then and has heavily featured in their recent revival up the table.

Having spent some time on loan at Bradford City last year in the division below, he has qualities for that league but can't necessarily make the step up to the Championship and that may be why his lack of game time has showed.

Jack Price

Jack Price is one of the academy graduates at Wolves and has been wriggled amongst the first-team ever since his debut in August 2013 when the club thrashed Gillingham 4-0.

Now 24-years of age, the midfielder has since spent time on loan at Yeovil Town and Leyton Orient but didn't really make an impression, and has never made his position in the matchday squad his own - regularly being shifted in and out.

Price has made 18 appearances for the Molineux club throughout this campaign and will be one of those players who splits opinions whenever he plays. However, his contract is up this summer so it will be interesting to see if manager Paul Lambert decides to keep him on.

Either way, the number-19 needs to move down to League One next season for the good of his career. Otherwise Jack Price may just rot away in the reserves.
