As we approach the halfway mark of the Championship season, Wolves are looking like certainties for promotion following their exceptional form.

Nuno Espirito Santo has transformed the club in a matter of months, with the Black Country side playing superb football and boasting a ten point lead over third place.

There is plenty of optimism around Molineux, with the players and fans all buying in to the way the ex-Porto manager operates.

However, Santo has a very large squad at his disposal which has seen some players kept on the fringes more than they'd have liked.

With the Portuguese manager very consistent in his team selection there have been very few chances for certain players to get a game considering how well the side are playing.

So, with the January transfer window looming, we look at two Wolves men who would benefit from a loan move away from the club...

Ben Marshall

The former Blackburn man will be looking to leave Wolves, whether it's permanently or on a loan deal.

Unfortunately for Marshall, he just isn't good enough for where Santo wants to play him. Whilst you may think he could cover adequately at wing-back, the boss hasn't tried him in that position throughout his tenure, so there's no reason he would now.

Instead, the 26-year old has been utilised as one of the front three. Yet, with Helder Costa, Ivan Cavaleiro, Diogo Jota and Bright Enobakhare all ahead of him in the pecking order, it's easy to see why Marshall can't get in.

Quite simply, the formation doesn't suit him and you unless there is a series of injuries, he's not going to get a chance at Molineux. But, he's proven at this level and would be a great pick-up for another Championship club.

Kortney Hause

Another who would be looking for regular football is Hause. However, it would have to be a loan move for the former England U21 international as Wolves surely wouldn't want to sell the bright prospect.

With Ryan Bennett, Willy Boly and Conor Coady the current first-choice combination for Santo in defence and Danny Batth and Roderick Miranda on the bench, Hause can't even make the squad.

An injury in pre-season meant that the other players got ahead of him and they just haven't deserved to lose the shirt since. Hause stepped in for his first game of the season in the Carabao Cup and produced an incredible display as Wolves held Manchester City over 120 minutes.

However, the five players ahead of him are not letting their standards slip, so it's hard to see when the 22-year old would get a chance in the first-team again this season.

Hause would benefit more from a loan move, and he'd improve most defences in the Championship and Wolves could reap the rewards from that further down the line if he continues to develop.
