Swansea City retain hopes of returning to the Premier League this season with them just outside the play-off places in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Swans started this season in fine form under Steve Cooper and have kept themselves up near the sharp end - though they have dropped back from the likes of Leeds and West Brom.

Even so, with the young side they have and with finances tight, a play-off finish would be seen as a good season and they'll be looking forward to trying to ensure that is what they achieve.

As well as that, though, the coming weeks could be important for some of the players at the club - with contracts running down and, as mentioned, finances tight, there could be some big decisions needing to be made, especially if promotion isn't achieved.

Here, then, we take a look at two players that could well be playing for their futures either at the club or for a move elsewhere:

Kyle Naughton

In a perfect world for the Swans, a new deal gets offered to Naughton and his future is sorted.

However, thanks to the financial situation at the club, it remains to be seen if they can wrangle things so they can offer him something.

He's been one of the club's best players this season and deserves a new contract without doubt but if the club cannot afford him then he could well be playing to get himself a move good enough for his talents.

Nathan Dyer

His contract is up in the summer and he's not played much this season for Swansea, so perhaps there is a case to suggest he'll be off in the next window.

Whether Steve Cooper gives him the chance to feature in the run-in remains to be seen, but if he is offered that chance he'll be eager to show he's got something to offer either the Welsh side or a new employer.
