Sheffield United are having a tremendous season in League One, and look firmly set for promotion should they continue their good form.

The Blades are finally looking like winning promotion back to the Championship, and many in football would say it's where the club needs to be sitting.

Over the years, the Blades have produced some absolutely superb young players, and some of those lads have been gone on to be top players. The likes of Kyle Walker and Phil Jagielka are top Premier League and international players, while the likes of Dom Calvert-Lewin and Aaron Ramsdale have recently moved on for seven figure sums.

Manager Chris Wilder has done a brilliant job of turning around the red and white half of Sheffield, but like Ramsdale and Calvert-Lewin, Wilder will expect some of his young guns to be targeted in the coming seasons by top clubs.

With this in mind, FLW writer Lee Connor has taken a look at TWO young Sheffield United stars who could be worth a fortune in years to come...

Ben Whiteman

The young midfielder has been enjoying a productive spell with League Two Mansfield Town, and is showing signs of turning into a top player.

Whiteman was given opportunities last season, but a loan move was probably the best thing for him, and he is developing nicely.

Breaking back into the Blades squad will be his short term goal, but there is no doubt he could go on to make a big money move one day.

David Brooks

Another quality looking young midfielder, Brooks has impressed current manager Wilder and has already been given chances this term.

Brooks looks brilliant in the middle, while he can also play out wide and offer an attacking threat for his team.

Brooks will be looking to progress and grab some more minutes before the season is out, but he looks to have the makings of a top player for the future, and one who could well be worth good money.
