As we approach the halfway mark of the season, Jaap Stam will be pleased with his side’s progression as they sit comfortably in the play-off places in 4th place.
The Royals have picked up 28 points in 16 games and are in a great run of form – winning their last consecutive league games and losing just twice in their last ten.
Certain players have stepped up their game to make sure Stam’s side are in the position that they are, and the supporters will be a much more happy bunch after a miserable couple of years.
However, when players put in exceptional displays, then there is the risk that Premier League sides may come knocking as the January transfer window looms.
Jaap Stam’s sole aim will be to get Reading back to the top flight, but with games coming thick and fast and this season being regarded as the strongest Championship league by far, it will not be an easy route.
