It's been reported by the Daily Mail that Derby County are interested in signing Oxford United's Marvin Johnson.

The winger has scored 5 goals in 39 matches for the League One side, joining from Scottish club Motherwell in the summer having started the SPL season in fine form, bagging 4 goals in 9 games for the Steelmen.

Derby appointed Steve McClaren back in October and after steering them away from the drop zone and back into the play-off race, the Rams' form dipped and they now sit 10 points adrift of the top six.

As their play-off push appears to be all but over, attentions are turning towards to next season at Pride Park, when Steve McClaren can chop and change his squad ready for a fresh start.

McClaren needs to offload several players and bring in replacements that are willing to give everything for the Derby badge and show some fight.

Marvin Johnson is a name linked with a move to Derbyshire, here's TWO other players that could potentially follow him to the club...

Andre Wisdom

Andre Wisdom had a loan spell during Steve McClaren's first tenure as Derby manager.

Wisdom is currently on loan with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg where he's made 13 appearances including 5 in the Europa League.

The right back has had little game time at parent club Liverpool over the last few seasons, which has seen him have several loan spells at clubs like West Brom and Norwich.

Derby are in need of a right back since Cyrus Christie has been incredibly poor since returning from injury, which has called for Rams fans to want a replacement in the summer.

Andre Wisdom was loved by Derby supporters whilst on loan at Pride Park back in the 2013/14 season, his ability to storm down the wing and deliver balls into the box aided Derby's attacking style of play.

Ollie Watkins

Ollie Watkins is a promising young talent currently playing for League Two side Exeter City.

The winger has scored 14 goals in all competitions for Devon based side, as Exeter have climbed up to seventh and are now well and truly in the play-off race.

In his last summer transfer window at Derby, Steve McClaren brought in a large number of young players, and has since given young players like Jamie Hanson and Max Lowe regular game time.

Ollie Watkins would be a great addition to the squad as he is a great young wide player who can score goals. Derby have a fair few wingers in their squad but they're inconsistent in performances so McClaren may bring in a signing of his own.
