Wolves have recently been linked with a move to bring Joleon Lescott back to Molineux, but that will no doubt not be the only move Paul Lambert makes in the January window, as he bids to pull Wolves away from the relegation zone.

Wolves are currently 20th in the Sky Bet Championship, just two points above 22nd place Cardiff City, which will be a huge worry for the Wolves boss.

When Lambert joined Wolves, he inherited a squad that was largely made up of players that former boss Walter Zenga had brought in, a lot that don't particularly fit in to Lambert's style of play.

Given this, Lambert will definitely be looking to recruit in January, ahead of what could be a crucial last 4 months of the season, if Wolves are going to be embroiled in a relegation battle.

Here, FLW's Chris Wilson looks at TWO players who could potentially follow Wolves old boy, Joleon Lescott, to Wolves...

David Nugent

Nugent has fell out of favour at the Riverside this season, largely due to the arrival of Alvaro Negredo.

Aitor Karanka is believed to be willing to let Nugent go in January, and Wolves should look to recruit him.

Wolves are quite inconsistent in front of goal, despite the amount of attacking talent they have.

Nouha Dicko has returned for Wolves, but it remains to be seen whether he could score regularly at this level.

Nugent is a proven Championship goal scorer and he is exactly what Wolves need to spearhead their attack.

Zach Clough

Clough is currently plying his trade for Bolton Wanderers in League One but he would definitely be someone who would fit into Lambert's style of play.

Clough likes to play from the wing and he provides goals and assists, something which Wolves desperately need someone to do.

Wolves often seem to be a bit toothless in front of goal, so Clough would provide them with some attacking impetus and give them a bit more of an attacking threat that they so desperately need.

He also has age on his side, with plenty of room for development, meaning he could be a star for Wolves in years to come.
