Sunday evening brought the news that Mark Warburton was edging closer to his first signing as Nottingham Forest manager with the club reportedly lodging a bid for Hibernian striker Jason Cummings, according to Sky Sports.

The talented youngster, who fired in 23 goals for Hibernian as they won promotion to the Scottish Premier League, could join the Reds for a fee believed to be around £1 million as Mark Warburton begins preparations for the new season.

The East Midlands club will be eager to get their business done early with the team reporting back for pre-season training next week, before heading to USA for a training camp.

Despite the recent backing of the new owner Evangelos Marinakis, Forest won't be splashing the cash this summer so will have to be clever in the business that they do.

So who else could join Cummings through the entrance doors to the City Ground remains to be seen, but FLW writer Harry Webster takes a look at TWO players who could potentially join...

Connor Mahoney

Connor Mahoney is another player that could arrive at the City Ground in the forthcoming weeks with the talented Blackburn winger set to depart Ewood Park with his contract up at the end of the month.

Warburton is believed to be after another winger to bolster his attacking arsenal and Mahoney would fit that bill after HITC revealed that the former Brentford boss was reportedly after him.

The 20-year-old was a stand-out player for Blackburn despite their relegation to League One and Forest, who are well respected in the game for developing their youth, could be the perfect club for him.

Oliver Norwood

The former Reading and Huddersfield Town man may be surplus to requirements at newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion, and with The Reds in need of another midfield option, Norwood could be that player.

The centre midfielder would be an excellent capture at Championship level, and would offer some good depth to the already solid midfield partnership of Chris Cohen and David Vaughan.

Norwood could be available on loan if Brighton continue to recruit new players, ahead of their first Premier League campaign and Forest should act quickly to bring him to the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest fans... Would Mahoney and Norwood be good additions to the squad? What do you think about the potential arrival of Cummings? Who else would you like the club to sign? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
