Sunday evening brought the news that Mark Warburton was edging closer to his first signing as Nottingham Forest manager with the club reportedly lodging a bid for Hibernian striker Jason Cummings, according to Sky Sports.
The talented youngster, who fired in 23 goals for Hibernian as they won promotion to the Scottish Premier League, could join the Reds for a fee believed to be around £1 million as Mark Warburton begins preparations for the new season.
The East Midlands club will be eager to get their business done early with the team reporting back for pre-season training next week, before heading to USA for a training camp.
Despite the recent backing of the new owner Evangelos Marinakis, Forest won’t be splashing the cash this summer so will have to be clever in the business that they do.
