Aleksandar Mitrovic’s future at Newcastle United has come under scrutiny in recent weeks.
It was recently reported that the club rejected an approach for the striker in January from French giants PSG, who were allegedly willing to pay £15million for the 6 foot 2 man.
The 22-year old signed for the Magpies from Belgian side R.S.C Anderlecht, at the beginning of what was a dismal campaign for the Tyneside club last term.
The powerful forward still managed to score nine goals in that dreadful relegation season though, which is probably one of the reasons why the Toon Army still rate him very highly.
It’s a case of when, rather than if, the Geordies get promoted back to the Premier League, and Benitez will be no doubt looking to get rid of the deadwood, and bring in new talent who will sustain their place in the top flight.
