Sheyi Ojo is the latest player to be linked with a move to Newcastle United, who look set to have a busy second half of the January month.

The Liverpool winger is highly rated by the Reds but he might be set for a loan move to develop his game with more regular minutes in senior football.

Benitez has been linked with a number of players in January as he looks to utilise his final chance of strengthening his squad ahead of the run-in.

A win at Brentford last weekend saw Newcastle leapfrog Brighton and go back to the top of the Championship table, but they will drop back to second if the Seagulls win their game in hand.

The main aim will be to win promotion and Benitez will want his squad to be as strong as possible to make that as likely as possible.

Here are 2 players who could follow Ojo in January.

Andros Townsend

Bringing Andros Townsend back to Newcastle would be a real statement of intent by the Magpies.

Townsend was open to staying in the summer but moved to Crystal Palace in a big money move.

Now they are being linked with a return move for the England international, who is definitely a Premier League standard player.

James McCarthy

Everton's forgotten man James McCarthy is set for a January move.

The emergence of teenage sensation Tom Davies has dropped McCarthy right down the order at Goodison Park.

The no-nonsense central midfielder would provide defensive cover for the back four and partner Jonjo Shelvey excellently.
