Scottish youngster Scott McTominay is being chased by a number of clubs with Leeds and Villa considered to be the favourites to sign the midfielder on a season-long-loan deal.

McTominay has struggled for first-team appearances this season, featuring in just two matches this season for Jose Mourinho's side.

This will be disappointing news to McTominay who broke through to the first-team last season and at times, was a regular in the first-team set up for the Premier League side.

He could be keen to link up with Dean Smith at Villa Park, with regular first team opportunities potentially on offer from Smith's side.

He would have to battle the likes of John McGinn and Mile Jedinak for a starting spot in Dean Smith's side but McTominay has shown the potential to be a vital member of the Manchester United first team so he will be confident of nailing down a first-team place at Villa.

But who else could follow McTominay to Villa Park in January?

The Brentford striker is the top goalscorer in the Championship and Dean Smith will certainly be tempted to bring his former striker to Villa Park and provide some much-needed goals to this Villa side.

Maupay is likely to be a man in demand in January and Brentford face a tough ask to keep hold of their star man.

The French Under 21's international would face stiff competition in the Villa side with Tammy Abraham and Jonathan Kodjia challenging Maupay for a starting spot in Smith's side.

Cahill has only made three appearances for Chelsea this season and it is likely that we will see the Premier League winner move on in January.

His former partnership with new Villa assistant, John Terry, could be a factor in a potential move for Cahill to Villa Park.

The former England international would add experience in a Villa defence that has been missing an 'experienced head' since Terry left the club in the summer.
