Jordan Amavi has been linked with a move away from Aston Villa in January, and as Steve Bruce continues to put his own stamp on things, others could be offloaded too.

Bruce replaced Roberto Di Matteo in October and is undefeated as Villains boss, winning three and drawing three of his first 6 matches.

But the former Hull manager will most likely want to bring in some of his own signings in January, which means other players would have to make way.

Aston Villa are currently in 16th position in the Championship, having won just 4 games all season, and only one of those wins came under the hapless Roberto di Matteo.

Villa's real downfalls have been draws and conceding late goals; they've only lost three matches all season but have drawn 10 of their 17 games which is the main reason they're at the wrong end of the league table.

It's Steve Bruce's job to turn those draws into wins and help Villa climb up the table into a promotion battle but to do this he'll have to make his squad his own.

FootballLeagueWorld writer Rob Booth identifies TWO players that could follow Jordan Amavi out the exit door at Villa Park in January.

Rudy Gestede

Rudy Gestede is a player who Steve Bruce could offload in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old has made 12 league appearances this season for the West Midlands side, contributing 3 goals - 2 of which came on the second day of the season in a 3-0 win over Rotherham United.

However, Gestede hasn't appeared in Villa's last two games and has already been linked with a move away from Villa Park this season, with Hull rumoured to be interested in the forward's services.

Bruce would still have 4 decent strikers at his disposal in Kodjia, Ayew, Agbonlahor and McCormack, if the Benin international was to move on in January.

Libor Kozak

Libor Kozak is way down the pecking order at Villa Park, having made just 2 appearances all season for the West Midlands outfit.

The Czech has failed to play a single minute of football since Steve Bruce arrived as Villains boss, with his only two outings as in 2016/17 coming back in August.

Kozak has only ever played in 22 games since joining Villa from Lazio in 2013 for £7m, and has only netted 4 goals in claret and blue.

His time with Aston Villa has not gone as he'd hoped and the January transfer window would be a good time for the striker to join a new club and start afresh.
