Nottingham Forest have recently been linked with a move for the Portuguese striker Andre Claro with Philippe Montanier reportedly sending scouts to watch the forward.

The takeover from Fawaz Al Hasawi by the American John Jay Moores is imminent meaning there could be funds available to spend in the forthcoming January transfer window, which would really give the Reds that extra boost needed to help them push and challenge higher up the table.

If the new owners continue to back current boss Philippe Montanier, then the Frenchman could genuinely lead Forest nearer the top six in the Championship.

Forest sit in a somewhat poor 16th position, only six points off the bottom three, and some quality additions could be exactly what they need to help them improve their league position.

Here are TWO players that potentially could follow Andre Claro to Nottingham Forest in January.....

Omar Bogle

Forest are favourites to sign the hugely talented Grimsby Town striker, who has netted 16 times in 20 appearances in the league for the Mariners this season.

With Britt Assombalonga nursing frequent injuries, Bogle, who would offer similar sort of attributes, would be a perfect addition to Philippe Montanier's squad.

Bogle's hold up play, ability to score different types of goals and knack of being at the right place at the right time is something the City Ground faithful would welcome at the club.

Joey Barton

The controversial midfielder is currently training with former club Burnley after his latest debacle with Rangers, which resulted in an early termination of his contract.

It would cause a big debate if the Reds were to sign him, but if you get the type of Joey Barton that played with heart, leadership and passion at Burnley last season then you may have one of the coup's of the season.

Forest are crying out for a consistent holding midfielder that can do the ugly stuff and shield the defence and Barton would do exactly this.

Nottingham Forest fans... Could these two players follow Andre Claro to the the club? Could Bogle be the man to fire you up the table? Is Joey Barton too much of a risk? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
