For Nottingham Forest fans, it has been a truly dismal start to the 2016/17 campaign.

Unrest off and on the pitch has left the Reds awaiting the arrival of an American takeover, following controversial owner Fawaz Al Hasawi leaving the club.

Things were looking up for Philippe Montanier's men at the start of the season, where they won 3 out of the first 5 league games, where they netted 11 times in that process.

But lacklustre performances, and the failure of replacing Oliver Burke have left Forest in the precarious situation that they are in now, just 2 points adrift of the relegation places, lying in 20th after 16 games.

The Scotsman Burke would have surely made this list, but here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies TWO Nottingham Forest players that really ought to be playing in the Premier League.....

Britt Assombalonga

Forest would have been nothing without their prolific talisman in the last few years.

The 20-year-old has netted 20 times in 40 games, a goal every two games isn't bad whatsoever for a player who has been plagued with injuries for half of his duration at the City Ground.

Forest managed to resist bids for the Congolese international in the summer, however you'd have to think that if a Premier League club came in for Assombalonga in January, he may well be departing Nottingham.

Ben Osborn

The Derbyshire born young man has proved himself as a real talent in recent seasons.

The 22-year-old has made 93 appearances for the Reds, netting 7 times, and has shown his maturity to play either out wide or in a middle of the park.

Talent, agility, and pace on the ball, Osborn would be a fantastic investment and buy for any top flight outfit.
