It has been another interesting campaign on the banks of the River Trent at Nottingham Forest and after seeing the back of another manager things now finally look to have settled down under the stewardship of Aitor Karanka.

Mark Warburton was replaced by the Spaniard back in January and after a few teething problems to start with the Reds are now on an unbeaten run of five games going into this weekend's East Midlands derby.

Ex-Middlesbrough boss Karanka was in no mood for messing around when it came to shaping his squad, quickly signing eleven new players to replace seven members of the first-team who he offloaded from the club.

The Forest boss means business it would seem and given his attitude in the January transfer window, it looks likely to be an exciting summer for the club's supporters with Karanka likely to continue his squad alterations.

The defensive midfielder was a mainstay in the Forest side under previous boss Mark Warburton and although he performed admirably he has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of Jack Colback and Ben Watson.

Should Forest pursue a permanent move for the on-loan Colback during the summer it starts to ask the question of where exactly Bridcutt fits into the team.

At 28-years-old the ex-Leeds United man can ill-afford to be spending time kicking his heels on the bench and that could spell the end of his short time at Forest.

The Nottingham Forest youth academy graduate was the club's first choice goalkeeper during the first half of the 2017/18 campaign but has now been frozen out of Aitor Karanka's squad altogether.

Forest have recently signed ex-Manchester City man Costel Pantilimon and Greek stopper Stefanos Kapino and those two have seemingly been identified as Karanka's two matchday custodians.

Smith isn't young in terms of goalkeepers and the 23-year-old will need to leave the club during the summer if he is to stand any chance of playing regular first-team football next season.

Nottingham Forest fans, would you agree that these two players could leave during the summer? Let us know in the comments below!!!
