Less than a month after Norwich City were topping the Championship table, they now find themselves well adrift of the automatic spots, in a horrific run of form and with Alex Neil in serious danger of getting sacked.

It has been a tough month for Canaries' fans as they have seen their side plummet and free fall to fifth place after leading the pack in mid-October.

Alex Neil will be working hard to address the club's difficulties in the international break.

He might conclude that certain players just aren't pulling their weight and need to be shown the exit door in January.

The upcoming transfer window is the perfect opportunity for Neil to wield the axe and get rid of some deadwood which in turn frees up wages for Norwich to bring players in.

Here are two suggestions of peripheral Norwich City players who Alex Neil might be tempted to axe in January.

Kyle Lafferty

Kyle Lafferty

Things just haven't worked out for target man striker Kyle Lafferty at Norwich.

The Northern Ireland talisman needs to leave Carrow Road to further his own career and there are bound to be other clubs in the Championship willing to take a punt on him.

The 29-year-old is capable of scoring goals if he gets a good run in a side.

Matt Jarvis

You can't fault Matt Jarvis' effort and work rate but he isn't the player he once was.

The former Wolves and West Ham wide man has lost his ability to beat defenders with ease and whip great balls into the box.

The 30-year-old should leave Norwich for his own sake at this vital stage of his career.
