After extending the gap to eight points between Sheffield United at the top of the table and Scunthorpe United in third, promotion seems inevitable for Chris Wilder's side.

As the most consistent side in League One after a difficult start to the season, Sheffield United fully deserve their position at the top of the table.

It seems that this season may finally be the season that the South Yorkshire giants return to the Championship after six seasons in the third tier of English football.

The arrival of Chris Wilder and the composition of a very strong squad that is capable of competing at the top has seen Sheffield United become an unstoppable force in League 1 this season.

However, despite being in such a strong position, Sheffield United have some difficult crunch ties in the run-in which could cause the South Yorkshire side some problems.

Sheffield United v Millwall

As Millwall's dream FA Cup run continues, it has led to the postponement of their crunch tie against Sheffield United which will instead be played at the end of the month.

Millwall currently sits sixth in the table as Neil Harris' side hold the final play-off place.

However, with just a four-point gap over Southend United, Millwall will be looking over their shoulders and hoping they can climb further up the table.

The precarious position that Millwall are currently in means that they made need to go to Bramall Lane in search of a win if they want to distance themselves from clubs hoping to sneak into the playoffs at their expense.

Having already beaten Sheffield United with an 89th-minute penalty in September, Neil Harris will be hoping his side can secure a double over the current league leaders.

The importance of this game for both sides makes it a game that could make or break Sheffield United's season.

If Sheffield United win then it would give them the confidence to finish the season strong, however, a defeat to Millwall could see nerves creep in and Sheffield United begin to wobble.

Sheffield United v Bradford City

In the reverse fixture, an extremely entertaining and action-packed Yorkshire derby saw the two sides share the points after a 3-3 draw.

When Sheffield United faced Stuart McCall's side at Bramall Lane in mid-April, it is likely going to be against a side that have secured themselves in the playoffs.

The crunch tie between the Yorkshire giants will be even more crucial considering how close it is to the end of the season when every point matters.

Although Sheffield United seem to be in a position where promotion seems almost inevitable, Bradford City will still have plenty to play for and they may need to go to Sheffield United to pick up a result which could make it extremely tricky for Chris Wilder's side.

Of Sheffield United's remaining fixtures, alongside Millwall, it is the standout fixture where Sheffield United could face real difficulty, it could make or break Sheffield United's season as it could determine if they are going to finish as Champions or just as automatic promotion victors.
