Bolton Wanderers have hit a stump in form of late after three games without a win, which sees them playing catch-up with the automatic promotion chasers.

At the start of the season, the Trotters were favourites to win the title after relegation from the Championship, but League One is proving to be one of the most competitive seasons yet.

Sides such as Sheffield United and Scunthorpe United have come out of the shadow to prove that they are worthy of becoming a Championship side once again.

With only two months of the season remaining and just 13 games left, Bolton still have time to ensure an automatic promotion spot as their fans will not want to endure an anxious finale of the campaign through the play-offs.

Bolton manager Phil Parkinson will be aiming for his players to give one final push and pick up as many points as possible.

FLW Writer, Ashley Williams identifies TWO games that could make or break Bolton’s season….

Scunthorpe – Away – 8th April 2017

This game will probably be Bolton’s biggest game of the year so far and a tie that could determine whether they are celebrating promotion to the Championship.

Similar to the Trotters, Scunthorpe also seem to be bottling under the pressure after failing to pick up a single victory throughout February.

This poor run of form has seen Sheffield United open up a seven-point gap at the top of the League One table.

A win for Bolton here could give them a massive confidence boost and ensure that they remain consistent on the final stretch of the season.

Peterborough United – Home – 30 April 2017

The final game of the season could be a relaxing affair for the Whites or one of the tensest moments for the supporters during the campaign.

Phil Parkinson will be aiming to make sure that his team’s place in the top two is mathematically certain before this fixture, with Peterborough pushing hard for a play-off spot. Posh boss Grant McCann’s side currently sit five points off the top six and they will make Bolton’s afternoon as uncomfortable as possible on the final day.
