These 2 January signings would take Sheffield United to the next level

Ambitious Sheffield United are beginning to click under boss Chris Wilder and after a sticky start for the former Oxford United man, his Blades side are currently unbeaten in 11 games, with the club sitting pretty in fourth place in League One.

The club are currently experiencing their sixth consecutive season in League One, which is far too long for a club which averages close to 20,000 fans at home games, despite several seasons of underachievement.

The Blades finished in a lowly 11th place during the last campaign, an achievement which cost Nigel Adkins his job at the helm of the club, with lifelong fan Wilder handed the reins.

There is a real sense among supporters of the South Yorkshire club that this can be their season in which they get back into the Championship, with optimism high that they can maintain their current unbeaten run for a little while longer.

With the January transfer window on the horizon, Football League World writer Lee Clarke takes a look at two new signings who could take Sheffield United to the next level.
