It hasn't been the greatest of starts to the Championship season for QPR at all.

Going into the international break, the West London based club sit in 17th place in the Championship table with 5 wins, 5 draws and 6 defeats and they now find themselves without a manager following Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's recent sacking.

For a side blessed with real talent and quality, it's quite bizarre seeing the R's struggling in the second tier, when just a couple of years ago they were competing in the Premier League.

But with Karl Robinson, Ian Holloway and Tim Sherwood all battling it out for the vacant managerial role, things could be on the ascent for the club.

And here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies TWO players that the club should look to sign in January, and will undoubtedly turn their fortunes around and galvanise a return to the top flight...

Scott Hogan

Perhaps the most clinical striker in the Championship, the Brentford forward has enjoyed a phenomenal time of late.

Despite being on the sidelines for the majority of last season with a ligament injury, the 24-year-old still managed to score seven times in seven games for the QPR's West London neighbours.

And the former Rochdale man has picked up from he left off last term, netting another 8 times in 12 games, leaving him the 4th highest goalscorer in the division.

One thing that is lacking from the QPR squad is a prolific goalscorer at Championship level - a void which has been left ever since Charlie Austin's departure.

And after the failed experiment of Conor Washington, QPR should really look to lure the proven Hogan to Loftus Road in January.

Conor Hourihane

The Irish midfielder has been at the heart of all of Barnsley's successes in the last few years.

Instrumental in the middle of the park, the Tykes' captain has made a century of appearances for Barnsley, and has scored 25 times.

The R's have a lot of energy in the middle of the park but not a lot of grit and firepower and therefore Hourihane would be a perfect signing.

He has immense technical ability on the ball too.

So...what do you think QPR fans? Would you agree with these two suggestions? Who else would you like to see join in January? Who do you want to see as your new manager? Leave your suggestions and thoughts in the comments below!
