Huddersfield have had a remarkable start to this season’s Sky Bet Championship campaign, and currently find themselves flying high in third place, after picking up nine wins from the opening sixteen league games.

Manager David Wagner has got the team playing excellent possession based attacking football, and has seen his side reap the rewards of that so far this season, with some excellent displays.

The shock start to the season has now led to many fans realistically believing that at the very least, a play-off spot is a possibility this season.

However, if they are to mount a serious push for a play-off/automatic promotion spot this season they may need to strengthen the squad further in January.

This article is going to take a look at TWO players David Wagner could secure a deal for that would take the club to the next level.....

Callum McManaman

Callum McManaman is someone who was linked with numerous moves away from current club West Brom in the summer however, a move failed to materialise for the wide-man.

No doubt there will be a lot of interest in his services again during the January window, and one club who should certainly be taking an interest is Huddersfield Town.

The 25-year-old has really struggled for first team opportunities since his move to The Hawthorns back in January 2015 and has been limited to just 20 appearances.

FA Cup winner McManaman looks as if he needs to escape the club and resurrect his career elsewhere, and the perfect place to do that would be high flying Huddersfield Town.

The former Wigan man would be joining a club very much on the up under the guidance of David Wagner, and would be a great opportunity for him to start rebuilding his career.

Tom Carroll

Tom Carroll has been at Tottenham Hotspur for over 6 years now and throughout that time he has made less than 30 first team appearances for the club, and with the financial muscle of Spurs it appears his first team chances are getting less and less.

He has spent much of his time away from White Hart Lane with loan spells with the likes of Leyton Orient, Derby, QPR and Swansea.

AdTech Ad The 24-year-old was highly regarded in his younger days and was capped 17 times for the England under-21 side with 2 goals for the young Lions.
Carroll is no stranger to The Championship after amassing almost 40 appearances throughout his loan spells with QPR and Derby County.

Carroll is very much on the fringes at the club and would benefit from escaping the club to play regular first team football.

One club who should take a closer look at him is Huddersfield Town, Carroll would fit in perfectly to the clubs possession based style of play and would add a very talented option to the Terriers midfield.
