Brighton and Hove Albion are in great form and look set for promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.

Chris Hughton’s side are competing at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table with Newcastle United, with the two constantly trading places at the summit of the table.

The Seagulls have also opened up a seven-point cushion to third placed Huddersfield Town, which leaves them in a commanding position in the race for automatic promotion.

Saturday saw Hughton’s side defeat an in-form Barnsley, to increase their unbeaten run to four league matches and strengthen their grip on promotion.

Hughton has stuck with a tight knit squad for large parts of the season, with Anthony Knockaert and the experienced duo Glenn Murray and Lewis Dunk consistently good for Brighton.

Despite Hughton looking toward his more senior players in the race for promotion, the club have some promising youngsters on their books.

Here is a look at TWO of Brighton’s young stars that could be worth serious money in the future…

Solly March

The attacking midfielder has made nearly 50 appearances for the club, and might not be considered one of the club’s youngsters anymore.

At 22 years old, March has a long career ahead of him, and could develop into an excellent player under Hughton.

The former England under-21 international suffered a long-term injury last season, and played no part in Brighton’s failed promotion push 12-months ago.

Since returning to full fitness, March has been limited to just 12 appearances in the Championship this season.

March has shown plenty of promise during his time with the Brighton first-team, and when he does break back into Hughton’s plans on a regular basis he could become one of the club’s most valuable assets.

Ben White

White has featured for Brighton’s under-23’s side this season, but is beginning to come to the attention of Hughton.

The central defender has made two appearances for the first-team this season, both coming in the EFL Cup back in August.

Hughton has already praised White this season, following an appearance on the bench against Derby: “This experience of being around us (the first-team) and the pressure that comes with it. If we have a problem at the back, then he is coming in.”

The Brighton manager has obvious trust in the youngster, but has struggled to give him first-team opportunities this season, with Dunk and Shane Duffy in such fantastic form in central defence.

Following a strong start to his Brighton career, White will be hopeful he can continue to impress when he is handed more opportunities.

White could become a regular fixture in Brighton’s backline, and has the potential to be worth serious money in years to come.
