It's been a good couple of weeks for Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers, who have picked up vital points against Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town.

Rovers managed a draw with out-of-form Huddersfield this weekend after surprising high-flying Newcastle by beating them at St James' Park the week before.

It all points to a turnaround in form that could be crucial come the end of the season, especially with a relegation struggle ahead.

Owen Coyle has a big run of games ahead of him in the run-up to Christmas and many feel that he should be utilising the whole of his squad in order to get as many points as possible.

That includes getting as many youngsters involved in first team affairs as possible but sadl, there are some players on the fringe of the first team who we think just don't have what it takes to get to the top.

So with that in mind, here's 2 Blackburn wonderkids who we feel are destined to flop...

Connor Thompson

At 20-years-old, these days young strikers either need to be scoring regularly for development sides or getting bags of experience on loan at lower league clubs.

But for Connor Thompson, neither of these are happening and you get the feeling he could be falling behind in his development.

He's a versatile young man who can play in either defence or in midfield but he's been part of an under-23 side who have really struggled this season.

His days could be numbered, despite signs of early promise.

Connor Mahoney

Connor Mahoneyd

19-year-old winger Connor Mahoney really set tongues wagging back in January 2014 when he became the third youngest Rovers player to make a senior appearance for the first team.

It came away at Manchester City in an FA Cup replay but since then he's struggled to make the Rovers first team.

He could be classed as one of those who peaked too early because this season, he's struggling to score in the under-23 games.

He's featured 8 times and is still yet to score.
