Birmingham City have made a reasonably good start to the new campaign thus far, sitting in a comfortable seventh place and only one point off the play-off positions.

Since manager Gary Rowett joined the club in 2014, he has built a strong Blues squad, certainly capable of challenging at the top end of the table.

Once a squad on the brink of relegation, the former Burton Albion boss has transformed his Birmingham City side into a team full of top quality players with competition high.

As a result, the Blues do have a few fringe players in their ranks that could depart to pastures new to free up some space for even more quality.

Thus, FootballLeagueWorld writer Harry Webster identifies TWO Birmingham City fringe players that need to be offloaded very soon...

Diego Fabbrini

Surprisingly, Diego Fabbrini is struggling for game at St Andrew's this season.

The talented Italian is frequently being utilised as an impact sub off the bench and there is no question that the former Watford man could feature more in the Blues' starting eleven.

If Rowett is going to continue to not feature Fabbrini as much, he may be better to offload him to a team where Fabbrini could make more of an impact.

Adam Legzdins

After being released from Leyton Orient, it surprised a few when Adam Legzdins joined the club at the beginning of the year.

The shot-stopper does have Championship experience with Derby County, but you could argue that a club like Birmingham City could have a better back-up keeper to challenge Tomasz Kuszczak between the sticks.

Rowett should offload the 29-year-old and replace him with a keeper that can take the starting eleven spot off the experienced Kuszczak in the forthcoming seasons.
