Middlesbrough secured Garry Monk as their new manager from Leeds United in the summer, and he's made a mixed start to life at the Riverside Stadium.

Boro currently occupy 11th spot in the Sky Bet Championship table having made an underwhelming start which has seen them fail to maintain any sort of consistency.

Monk left a Leeds side who are now sitting above Boro in fifth place in the league.

So do you think Monk regrets leaving Elland Road for the Riverside Stadium?

The writers here at Football League World have had their say......

Alfie Burns

Not at this moment in time.

It was a shock to see Monk walk away from Elland Road over the summer, but it could be a decision that is best for all parties involved in the future.

Monk will feel he has more securities at the Riverside Stadium, and despite a tricky start to the season, he will back his ability to get Boro into promotion contention.

Leeds may also be starting to feel like Monk’s decision was right, with their squad looking much more rounded than the one at Elland Road this time last season.

I do think there's a sense of 'what if' around Monk and Leeds but I would imagine it's not something he seriously regrets.

At the end of the day it was his call to walk away from the club and things may not have gone as they have for the Whites had he not this summer.

He'd surely like to be in Leeds' position in the table though.

Chris Gallagher

There's no way Garry Monk will regret leaving Leeds.

Sure, they are a big club, but look at the players he has available at Middlesbrough, nobody can argue that he hasn't moved to manage a better squad of players.

It's about getting to the Premier League and Boro should've been better positioned than Leeds to do that.

He had more money to spend and is working with many who played in the top-flight last season.

It would've been an easy decision!

Adam Simeoni

Not a chance.

Leeds are a fantastic club with a wonderful set of fans, but to end up at Middlesbrough with the huge transfer budget he was awarded with was a serious stroke of luck.

I have every confidence that Middlesbrough will go up automatically this season, but I still feel that if Leeds are to go up, it will be via the playoffs.

Leaving Leeds in the way that he did will be disappointing, having looked destined for the playoffs, but Monk will be pretty happy with the way things turned out for him.
