‘There’s no benefit’ – Should Nottingham Forest consider selling key man?: The verdict

Nottingham Forest continue to have an excellent season as they moved into the playoff places with a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town yesterday.

The Reds are putting in some excellent displays and with the goals of Lewis Grabban, they are looking more and more like genuine promotion contenders as the season moves into the difficult winter period.

However, with performing so well, there comes interest in some of the better players in the Forest squad, and one player in particular who has been in fine form is midfielder Joe Lolley.

Those performances are now leading to interest from the Premier League, with a whole host of clubs interested in snapping up the former Huddersfield man, according to the Nottingham Post.

With Lolley playing so well, and Forest finally looking like they might be able to make a run at getting back to the top flight, we here at FLW took this story to our writing team to get their views on if Forest should even consider selling their star midfielder.

Here’s what our team had to say…

Gary Hutchinson

If they’re serious about being promoted to the Premier League, no.
He’s a key player for them, there’s no benefit in getting rid. Why would you spend big in the summer just to start cashing in and weakening the side?
George Harbey
No, they shouldn’t whatsoever.
Lolley is such an influential player for Forest and is key to Karanka’s men going forward.
Even if teams wanted to pay £15million+, I wouldn’t accept.
Lee Connor
Not for me, unless the bid is stupid money which any club couldn’t turn down.
Lolley is the driving force at the minute for Forest, despite Grabban being the man in the goals.
If they want to win promotion, then there’s no point selling your best players. Lolley certainly fits into that category at the moment.
