The return of winger Jack Grealish from injury at the beginning of March has been the catalyst to a change in fortune at Aston Villa, with the 4-0 win over Derby County first of eight straight wins that has thrust the Villans into the play-off spots.

That was until Grealish was ruled out of the Bristol City win at the weekend, when illness forced him out, a result that proved that Villa can still secure a win in the absence of their talisman skipper.

So how should Villa fans be feeling about winning without Grealish?

We discuss.........

Toby Wilding

"This has to be a confidence boost.

"While they won't want to admit, keeping Grealish at Villa Park may well depend on reaching the Premier League, and to see that they can still compete in the Championship without him is a positive sign.

"Though ultimately, every Villa fan will want to see Grealish remain next season."

Alfie Burns

“There’s got to be some relief on the terraces.

“It is never nice to be branded a ‘one-man team’ but Villa will have shaken that tag off over the weekend.

“Grealish obviously improves them and the fans will want to see him back as soon as possible, but maybe playing without him is something they have got to get used to in the coming months.”

Louie Chandler

"It should give them a sizeable boost.

"In recent weeks there had been a lot of talk in relation to Villa being a one man team but this proved otherwise.

"It showed that others are more than ready to step up if needed."
