Having finished precariously close to the drop during the 2013/14 season, Charlton Athletic will have been hoping for a much more comfortable season.

And the 2014/15 season got off to a much better start as the Addicks went unbeaten for the opening eleven matches of the season under Bob Peeters, leaving fans dreaming of a potential return to the Championship come October.

Going into the new year and the club were still in a reasonable position, sat in midtable but a run of eight games without a win caused Charlton's impatient owners to take action.

On January 11 Peeters was sacked and the hunt began for a new manager.

The search was hardly an arduous one and just two days later the rather unknown entity of Guy Luzon was handed the job.

Having managed Standard Liege he arrived at the Valley with experience of managing a club in Europe's biggest competitions.

But this was not enough to convince the fans, who were far from happy with his appointment and many were particularly unhappy with the short search...

It took the Israeli a while to get going as well, having to wait until his sixth match in charge to pick up his first win.

But that 3-0 home win against Brentford sparked a run of seven wins from the next nine games securing Luzon's job for the start of the next campaign.

A start of just two wins in their opening 13 games and six defeats in seven led to his sacking, however, ultimately proving the fans right. Luzon was a ridiculous appointment.
