Preston North End stretched their unbeaten run to eight last night, with a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.

The Lilywhites, who played out a goalless draw with Bristol City at the weekend, found themselves a goal down after just seven minutes when Morgan Gibbs-White slotted home with a half-volley on the stretch.

Daniel Johnson then restored parity 12 minutes later, capitalising on Robin Olsen's wayward positioning. Sander Berge seemingly grabbed a winner in the 84th minute, but Emil Riis calmly equalised in the fifth minute of stoppage time to grab a point.

Riis' opener was his third Championship goal of the campaign, and his sixth of the season, after netting a further three in the Carabao Cup, including a brace against Morecambe and another one against Mansfield Town in the second round of the competition.

Riis joined Preston in October 2020, but he managed just two goals in 38 appearances last time out for the Lancashire club.

The Danish forward, who has represented his country from U17 to U21 level, joined Preston from Randers and had previously spent time with divisional rivals Derby County.
