Leeds United are returning to Championship action this weekend as they face Middlesbrough.

The Whites really need to turn things around as soon as they can and they'll be looking to do that against Garry Monk who used to be their manager of course.

Whether or not Thomas Christiansen plays the likes of Ezgjan Alioski, meanwhile, remains to be seen, with him in form for Macedonia recently and still struggling for Leeds.

Why might that be the case, then? We take a look...

Sam Rourke

There is a lot of expectation at Leeds United.

Fans expect the players to give 110% week in, week out - so there is pressure that comes with that, and you have to wonder if Alioski can handle it.

When he plays for Macedonia, I wouldn't say he's under the same amount of pressure as they're not expected to succeed as much.

Alfie Burns

It’s difficult to say, but Alioski looks to have a lot more confidence in a Macedonia shirt than a Leeds shirt.

There is a lot of pressure representing Leeds, which is maybe the reason for Alioski’s slump in form, and Leeds’ poor run will not be helping, as the 25-year-old appears to be a player that thrives of confidence.

Alioski has plenty of talent, and Leeds’ supporters need to be more patient with him, as he will come good in English football, I have no doubts.

However, Christiansen needs to find a way of helping the winger rediscover his international form at club level.

Chris Gallagher

It could be a combination of factors.

From the role he plays, the freedom he has going forward and his teammates. So many players perform differently at international level and Alioski is just one of those.

It shouldn't be a major concern to Leeds fans as when he's playing well it will only boost his confidence.

Thomas Christiansen needs to adapt his style to get the best out of the Macedonian and if he doesn't improve just don't play him.

Adam Simeoni

Some players need the team to play well for them to look good, and Alioski is one of those men.

The Macedonian is playing in a side lacking confidence and belief, and this is certainly reflected in his performances.

Leeds aren't getting the ball out to him as they were earlier in the season, and their fragility at the back isn't allowing the winger the freedom to drift inside as much as before.
