The Championship has thrown up plenty of stories in recent weeks and one of the most prominent is Bolton's sudden revival.

Many had already written the Trotters off this season only a few weeks ago with them win-less and looking without any confidence but they have rallied and are now off of the bottom of the league.

Indeed, that turn in form has largely coincided with the return of Sammy Ameobi to the side and so our writers are asking, could he be Bolton's messiah?

Alfie Burns

He could well be.

Ameobi is putting in some excellent performances for the Trotters, and if he can continue to keep up his current level of performance, Bolton have a chance of survival.

Phil Parkinson’s side are obviously still amongst the favourites for relegation, but with Ameobi in their ranks and playing the way he is, there is a glimmer of hope at the Macron Stadium.

Chris Gallagher

He has to be.

The Trotters deserve huge credit for the way they've performed in recent weeks, but it's still not the most talented squad.

However, in Ameobi they have someone who can be a matchwinner. His pace, trickery and skill makes him a real handful, the problem is consistency.

Hopefully he maintains his recent levels as he seems the best chance Bolton have of staying up.

Adam Simeoni

Messiah is a strong word, but he has the potential to make a difference.

The tricky forward has injected a new lease of life into a Trotters side that looked a dead cert for the drop, and he could make all the difference by the time May next year rolls around and we know the fate of those at the bottom.
