It’s felt like a long road but Bournemouth have finally got their man.

The club announced on Monday evening that Scott Parker had been named as the Cherries new head coach, replacing Jonathan Woodgate who will leave the club at the end of his contract this month.

The 40-year-old has penned a three-year deal with the club and will be tasked with taking the club back to the Premier League after missing out last year.

Parker has experience of both life in the Premier League and also winning promotion from the Championship during his time with Fulham and he’ll be hoping that he can add to that following his move to the Vitality Stadium.

As far as supporters are concerned, this is the start of a new chapter.

Parker comes in with big expectations around him, but taking to Twitter, fans of the Cherries are generally supportive of the appointment and are willing him to do well in the role.

Here’s what a selection of fans have had to say.
