Hull City will be eager to keep hold of Keane Lewis-Potter this summer, with the Tigers making an ambitious start to this summer transfer window.

Following Acun Ilicali's takeover of the Championship outfit, Hull's scope has been widened when it comes to their potential recruitment.

Lewis-Potter, who has been subject to a lot of higher level interest, enjoyed an excellent second-tier campaign, consistently delivering for the Tigers as they readapted to life in the Championship, with the young winger netting 12 league goals, whilst providing a further four assists.

Discussing Lewis-Potter's situation at Hull and whether the club could be lured into selling their most-prized asset, Carlton Palmer told FLW: "I'm sure they'll be sitting down with him and wanting to tie him to a longer-term contract, and keep him happy.

"Because obviously, whenever you're at a football club, you as a manager, you want to keep your better players, that is for sure.

"You want to keep moving forward, you don't want to be losing your better player(s), because then you're gonna be going backwards.

"But of course, there always comes a point, they will do with West Ham with Declan rice, that you get an offer that you just can't refuse."

The verdict

Given the club's financial backing and subsequent ambitions about what next season could possibly hold, it would be no shock if Lewis-Potter remains at the MKM Stadium.

He is perhaps in the same boat as Jacob Greaves, with the pair representing youthful talent with incredibly high ceilings, with the recent takeover bolstering the club's chances of keeping the pair.

Of course, their resolve is likely to be tested, and if a mammoth of an offer comes in, then they are likely to consider it, especially if they can reinvest with a large proportion of the squad in mind.

It would probably take a bid over the £25 million mark to make the Tigers even consider selling.
