Manchester United look like they are ready to raid the EFL for their first signing of the summer with Sky Sports News reporting they are close to signing Swansea winger Daniel James for £15million.

The 21-year-old has burst onto the scene this season under Graham Potter at the Liberty Stadium, scoring four goals and assisting nine more in 33 Championship appearances, five in all competitions.

It is a season that has also seen the Welshman break into Ryan Giggs' national side, making his debut in a 1-0 loss to Albania back in November before scoring his first goal in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia in March.

But would he be a good signing for United?

We discuss...

George Harbey

"I think £15million for a player of James’ quality and potential is a fantastic deal.

"He is exactly the kind of player that United need in their current squad - a rapid, direct winger whose first thought is to go forward all the time.

"He’s at a fantastic age, and £15million will prove to be an absolute bargain for the Premier League giants."

Alfie Burns

“This is a really interesting signing and an indication of how things are changing at Old Trafford.

“£15m is a lot of money for James, but he’s a talented boy and could progress nicely if given time by Man United.

“The club just can’t allow what happened with Zaha to happen again.”

Louie Chandler

"This would be their smartest signing in years.

"It has become so tedious seeing United splash ludicrous amounts on big names for PR reasons only for them to flop massively.

"James is shrewd signing and a fantastic player who is only going to get better."
