Sunderland will be preparing for another season in League One, after they fell to an agonising injury-time defeat to Charlton in the Play-Off final.

This would have been a tough defeat to take for the Sunderland supporters, who would have expected their side to return to the Championship at the first time of asking.

But the loss to the Addicks raised questions as to whether Jack Ross should keep his job in charge of the club.

The Black Cats are set for potential new owners ahead of next season, which is likely to bring an interesting summer.

But the potential owners in waiting have already made their intentions clear regarding Ross’ future, and want to keep him in charge according to a report from The Sun on Sunday (2nd June, page 59).

Are they making the right decision on his future though?

We discuss….

Gary Hutchinson:

"I’m torn.

"I’m not one to suggest clubs should fire their manager and make rash moves.

"But I can’t see Jack Ross winning over the supporters. His football can be negative and it cost them dearly.

"If they keep him, it could cost them once more. He spent a lot of money compared to Charlton and yet the Addicks were the side full of ideas and endeavour."

George Brooks:

"I think so.

"Even though Sunderland missed out on promotion last season, Ross is still a good manager and did well in his first season at the Stadium of Light.

"He deserves another chance to try and get the team promoted."

Jacob Potter:

"The wrong decision.

"Ross will have known his expectations when he was appointed as Sunderland boss in the summer and he’s surely failed in not winning promotion back into the Championship.

"I wouldn’t wait around in getting rid of him, as I think there are better options available to them ahead of next year’s campaign."
