West Bromwich Albion are battling to make their way back to the Premier League under the guide of Slaven Bilic.

And, at the time of writing (18/09/19), they remain the only undefeated side left in the Sky Bet Championship.

A Premier League return is what they crave at the Hawthorns, after spending much of the last decade in the top-flight.

With us, here at FLW, looking to put together a worst West Brom XI from that time period, it makes things difficult.

However, we’ve given it a go here and attempted to assemble a side that just haven’t made the impact desired at the Hawthorns…

The ex-Manchester United goalkeeper managed only one appearance for the Baggies, which resulted in him conceding three goals.

It might seem harsh including a player with such little impact, but what he did impact was a heavy defeat to Norwich City.

Lugano arrived with a big reputation despite his age. He’d captained Uruguay and played for PSG.

However, he didn’t make the desired impact.

Ibanez was another disappointing defensive addition at West Brom, managing just 14 appearances in total and 702 Premier League minutes.

Meite also fits into our defensive unit, mainly for a horror-show against West Brom’s fierce Black Country rivals, Wolves.

Something you can’t ever recover from.

Wilson is a well-known name around the EFL now, but his spell with West Brom wasn’t that impressive.

The 32-year-old managed four Premier League outings.

In terms of value for money, we can’t leave Oli Burke out.

The former Nottingham Forest flyer had a great reputation when he arrived at West Brom, but it just isn’t happening for him.

The Brazilian midfielder was a player with real quality, but he didn’t do enough in an Albion shirt.

He was on the winning side only three times during half a season with the club in the Premier League.

Sinclair is well travelled at this stage of his career, and he’s impressed with both Celtic and Swansea City. However, there have been some really tough spells for the winger.

West Brom was one of those, and he makes our side.

The forward made 28 appearances for Albion in a period between 2010-2011, but he failed to score a goal.

Attackers are there to make the net bulge, but Barnes let the Baggies down.

The less said about Sturridge’s West Brom spell the better, really.

The on loan Liverpool forward managed no goal contributions in six Premier League outings, during a season West Brom slipped out of the big time.

Like Sinclair, Samaras made the grade at Celtic but not in England, and not with West Brom.

No goals in a handful of appearances to finish off our team of flops.
