It's fair to say that Reading have had some poor signings over the years, but the club have had a number of success stories from previous players that have played in the hoops.

Through the club's mismanagement with Russian owner, Anton Zingarevich, the Berkshire-based side have had their fair share of players that certainly have had a disappointing career representing the side.

Some of the players that have left the club after unsuccessful spells in Berkshire have gone on to bigger and better things. A classic example of this is Daniel Carrico who made a small number of appearances for the Royals.

He then left the club and captained Sevilla to back-to-back Europa League titles. Certainly up there with the strangest of outcomes for a past Reading player.

But who are Reading's top four worst signings in the last five years?

Find out here....

The Dutchman arrived with the biggest ego in Berkshire and failed to live up to the heights that had seen him represent Real Madrid.

But he scored just two goals in 23 appearances and soon left the club in 2015.

It's safe to say that Piazon isn't liked by the majority of Reading fans, and it's mutual with the Brazilian as he regularly criticises the clubs supporters on social media.

He made 23 appearances in a loan spell with the club during the 2015/2016 season and only scored three times in a hugely disappointing spell.

The Peru international arrived with raving reviews but failed to make an impact on the Reading team.

He made just five appearances in a two-year-spell with the club and left to join Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal after the unsuccessful spell in England.

This is up there with one of the most ridiculous signings Reading have ever made. Despite being well equipped in their depth in defence, they signed former Bolton Wanderers defender Zat Knight.

He made two appearances all season and subsequently left the club after a short spell with Reading.
