Things are looking grim for Barnsley in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Tykes currently on a miserable run of form, which has left them fighting relegation with 15 fixtures of the season remaining.

Barnsley’s challenge of maintaining their second-tier status was dealt a huge blow at the start of the month, with Paul Heckingbottom turning his back on the Tykes and moving across Yorkshire to Leeds United.

Following Heckingbottom’s departure, Barnsley have slipped into the relegation zone, with the Tykes now a point adrift of safety.

This morning, the Tykes have announced Heckingbottom’s successor, with Jose Morais arriving at Oakwell on an 18-month contract, with Jose Mourinho’s former assistant to take charge of the crucial clash against Burton Albion.

Here at FLW, we have crunched the numbers from Morais’ spell with AEK Athens, which do not make good reading and will certainly worry Barnsley’s supporters.

The 52-year-old took charge of 14 games, managing to pick up just three victories during that time, leaving him with a 21.4% win ratio.

However, Morais’ side were hard to beat – losing on just three occasions and drawing the other eight of his 14 fixtures in-charge.

Morais picked up an average of 1.21 points per game during his time in Greece.
