Wolves deservedly lead the way in the Championship this season and it’s fair to say that Nuno Espirito Santo has assembled a fine squad in the Black Country.

Even though the likes of Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota will take the headlines given their reputation in the game, Wolves have also benefitted from bargains such as John Ruddy, Ryan Bennett and Barry Douglas.

As well as that, the clubs academy has helped this season too.

Danny Batth, Bright Enobakhare and Jack Price, before he left, are three players who featured in earlier parts of the season as Wolves got off to a flying start.

And, in recent weeks Morgan Gibbs-White has been regularly used by Santo who is clearly impressed with the local lad.

The 18-year old midfielder is one the club have real high hopes for and he was a key part of the England U17 side that won the World Cup last year.

He is sure to have a big future at Molineux and here are two other youngsters who could make an impact in the years to come.

Even though he is only 18-years old, Ennis is a player that many Wolves fans will already be aware of. The talented striker has been highly regarded for years thanks to his pace and ability in front of goal.

He also caught the eye in a pre-season friendly against Swansea in 2016 where he gave the experienced Swans defence a torrid time.

Injuries haven’t helped since then and a loan move to Shrewsbury was cut short earlier this season because of a setback but Wolves were still prepared to offer Ennis a new contract, demonstrating the faith they have in him.

With the way Wolves are heading, only the standout academy prospects are going to get a chance but there’s no doubt Ennis is one.

Samuels is another who made a big impression in a pre-season game, scoring for Santo’s side in a victory at Peterborough before the start of the year.

Then a 16-year old, Samuels came on and fans were impressed with his pace, strength and work rate against a senior Posh outfit. And, he topped it off with a well taken goal.

Since then, he has been amongst the goals with the U18s and signed a new two-and-a-half year deal with the club on his 17th birthday in November.
