West Brom pulled a major coup on Deadline Day, as they announced the signing of Fulham midfielder, Stefan Johansen on loan until the end of the season.

There were high hopes for the midfielder, who had previously played a crucial role in Fulham's promotion to the Premier League in last year's campaign.

But the 28-year-old has been limited to just six appearances in total for the Baggies as they challenge for promotion back into the top-flight.

Darren Moore evidently didn't rate Johansen very highly, which will have certainly come as a surprise to many supporters, who will have originally though that he could have played a starring role for West Brom this season.

There's no doubting that he has the quality to be playing for a promotion-chasing side in the Championship, and he'll certainly be cutting a frustrated figure at The Hawthorns at this moment in time.

He has every reason to feel aggrieved as well, as he is far too good of an option to have sat on the substitutes bench.

Johansen and Fulham aren't going to be happy with his current playing time this season, and this has definitely been a loan spell to forget for the Norwegian.

The midfielder was sent out on loan to get regular game time, and he's hardly been given a fair opportunity by the Baggies to stake a claim for a regular starting spot.

But having been an unused substitute for the promotion-chasing side in their win over Birmingham City on Friday evening, he's going to be counting down the days until he returns to Craven Cottage in the summer.

A wasted loan spell for a player with a considerable amount of talent, who could have potentially fired the Baggies into the automatic promotion places if he was given the game time he deserved.
