Aston Villa are certainly a club with some momentum behind them in the Sky Bet Championship, with Steve Bruce’s side continuing their rise through the division last night, having recorded a 2-0 victory over Preston North End at Deepdale thanks to goals from James Chester and Robert Snodgrass.

First-half goals from Chester and Snodgrass moved Villa up into fifth in the Championship table, with Bruce’s side beginning to look like an outfit capable of a serious promotion push this season.

Whilst Chester and Snodgrass found themselves on the scoresheet, the performance of Keinan Davis was once again impressive, with the 19-year-old striker deputising for Jonathan Kodjia as the focal point of attack. Davis took to Twitter shortly after the game, praising his teammates and Villa’s supporters after a pleasing evening.
