Fulham fans will be keen for manager Slavisa Jokanovic to push for the automatic promotion places in the Championship yet again this season, despite the disappointment of the 2016/17 campaign.

The Cottagers fell in the semi-finals of the play-offs last season, despite being one of the early favourites to make it back into the Premier League.

But it wasn't meant to be and moving forward, Fulham will be competing in one of the most competitive Championship division's we've seen in years.

And if they're to compete at the top with some of the big-spenders right now, they're going to need to gel together fully and some of their existing players are going to really have to step-up moving forward.

One man we think will be a huge part of this Fulham side this season is Sone Aluko, who had a seriously solid campaign last time out.

He might not be a huge goal-getter and he might not be the sort of player who will score 20 goals-a-season but in terms of build up-play, pace, playing off the striker and chipping in, he's one of the better forwards in the Championship.

Which is why, we think Jokanovic needs to do everything he can to keep him at Craven Cottage over the coming days and weeks.

He'll be a player that certain teams would love to bring in but moving forward, Jokanovic must do everything to get keep his man in London.

Aluko was a big part of the play-off push last season and you've got to give him credit for the work he put in, despite his side failing to make it all the way.

With Aboubakar Kamara also coming, Fulham's attacking options are looking strong. With the likes of Cairney, Sessegnon and Piazon also in the ranks, there's every chance the Cottagers will be competing at the top again next season.

But keeping hold of a Aluko will be a big part of their success too. He's an underrated forward and could be very good for Fulham next season, just as he was last.

Fulham fans, how do you rate Aluko? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
