Norwich City were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa weekend as their hopes of climbing closer towards the Championship Play-Off places suffered a major setback.

The Canaries have struggled for consistent form at times this season and Alex Neil's sacking, combined with some poor results has meant another season of Championship football is looming next year.

But there's been one man that has been seriously good for most of the season and that's £2.13million-rated striker Cameron Jerome, who rarely receives the plaudits like he probably deserves.

The former Birmingham City man has carried much of the goalscoring burden for his team this campaign and has weighed in with a pretty decent 14 goals so far this season, one of his strongest seasons to date.

Often deployed in the lone striker role, Jerome works tirelessly upfront, with his pace and strength causing real difficulty for plenty of Championship sides this campaign.

He's often criticised for his lack of natural goalscoring ability, something that often blighted his time with both Birmingham and Cardiff but he's a real threat and a player that does a real job for Norwich City.

His time at Stoke rather fizzled out but we think the English striker deserves another shot in the Premier League. Should a team like Leeds or Reading get promoted when the Play-Offs eventually roll around, he'd be a fantastic option to go into their attacking lineup, having had experience of the top flight in the past.

Granted, he's not everyone's cup of tea but does Cameron Jerome deserve another shot at the big-time after his performances this season? Absolutely.
